BENEFITS

A formula built around uric acid – luteolin, celery seed, vitamin C

Uric X is our formula for people who keep an eye on their uric acid level and their metabolic health – this is what it is primarily used for. It brings together two plant ingredients, luteolin and celery seed extract, with three micronutrients: vitamin C, folate and molybdenum. Luteolin and celery seed are frequent subjects of research on the topic of uric acid.

  • Cell protection: Vitamin C contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
  • Around the joints: Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of cartilage and bones.
  • Metabolism: Folate contributes to normal amino acid synthesis and to normal homocysteine metabolism; molybdenum contributes to normal sulphur amino acid metabolism.
  • Tiredness: Vitamin C and folate contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
  • Plant ingredients: 200 mg of luteolin and 300 mg of 4:1 celery seed extract per serving.
  • Clean formula: vegan, in plant-based capsules; 60 capsules, 30 servings. Contains celery.

What is it used for?

  • In the daily routine of people who watch their uric acid level: this is its main use – especially if your uric acid level is in the upper part of the normal range and you want it to stay within the normal range.
  • For athletes who pay attention to joint comfort: the topic of uric acid and joints matters to many people who train a lot.
  • Alongside a mindful diet: you can read more about the link between uric acid, sugar and metabolism in our blog post on uric acid.
URIC X FAQS

Who do you recommend Uric X for?

Primarily for people who keep an eye on their uric acid level and want to keep it within the normal range – as part of their daily routine, with a meal. If you have been diagnosed with gout or another medical condition, or you take uric-acid-lowering medication, be sure to talk to your doctor before use: Uric X is a food supplement, not a medicine.

What uric acid level is considered normal?

The conventional laboratory reference range is usually 1.5–6.0 mg/dl for women and 2.5–7.0 mg/dl for men; some sources give a higher upper limit (7.3 mg/dl for women, 8.5 mg/dl for men). For people with gout, the usual target is 6.0 mg/dl or below.

Some experts consider these upper limits too high, because they are set mainly with avoiding gout in mind. Dr David Perlmutter considers a level below 5.5 mg/dl ideal, Dr Bayne French below 5.0 mg/dl, and a study suggests below 5.0 mg/dl for men and between 2.0 and 4.0 mg/dl for women. Always review your results with your doctor.

Are luteolin and lutein the same thing?

No – only their names are similar. Luteolin is a flavonoid found in radicchio, broccoli, green peppers, carrots, celery, parsley and thyme, among others. In the context of uric acid, it is studied because of research on the enzyme xanthine oxidase; this enzyme is involved in breaking down purines, and uric acid is produced as it works.

Lutein is a carotenoid found in dark green leafy vegetables such as kale and spinach; the main source of the lutein used in food supplements is marigold. Lutein is one of the ingredients of AO Booster.

Is it vegan?

Yes: Uric X contains no ingredients of animal origin and comes in plant-based capsules. Contains celery.

Who should not use it?

Do not use if you are allergic to celery. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18, have kidney disease or gout, are taking medication (especially uric-acid-lowering, diuretic or anticoagulant drugs) or have a known medical condition, consult your doctor before use.

Are Hammer Nutrition supplements tested by an independent laboratory?

Yes. Our supplements are made in accordance with US dietary supplement manufacturing regulations (21 CFR 111): every raw material used is tested for purity, potency, identity and integrity, and checked at every stage of production – blending, encapsulation, packaging materials and finished product – before it is released for sale.

What does MFG on the packaging mean?

MFG is the date of manufacture. The product keeps its quality for 4 years from the date of manufacture if you store it in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight and excessive heat. After opening, always close the cap tightly and use within 6 months.

HOW TO USE

Dose: 2 capsules a day, with a meal.
