What is it used for?

At what age should I start taking PSA Caps?

Question: You say PSA Caps is mainly for men over 30. I’m in my mid-twenties – can I take it?

Answer: “Over 30” isn’t a strict rule – it’s simply the age at which, in our view, most men should start paying attention to their prostate health, and the topic comes up more and more often as you head towards your forties. Younger men can take it too, as part of their daily routine.

What’s in PSA Caps?

Saw palmetto extract – a classic ingredient of prostate formulas, made from the berries of an American palm species.
Beta-sitosterol – a plant sterol, from soy.
Stinging nettle extract – a concentrated (4:1) extract of stinging nettle.
Graminex® G63® flower pollen extract – a patented rye flower pollen extract that contains both the water-soluble and the fat-soluble parts of the pollen.
Indole-3-carbinol (I3C) – a compound also found in cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower).
Lycopene – a carotenoid, the red pigment of tomatoes and watermelon.

How much should I take?

2 capsules twice a day, in the morning and in the evening – that’s one serving (4 capsules). According to the US directions, more may be taken if needed; in our view, you should definitely agree this with your doctor.

Does it replace a medical check-up?

No. PSA Caps is a food supplement, not a medicine. If you have urinary complaints – a frequent urge to urinate, getting up at night, a weak urine stream – always see a doctor. Over the age of 40–50, we also recommend regular urological screening.

Who is it not recommended for?

Not recommended for women, especially pregnant or breastfeeding women, or for anyone under 18. If you take medication – especially anticoagulants, hormone or prostate treatment – or are sensitive to pollen, consult your doctor before use. If you have urinary complaints, always see a doctor: a food supplement does not replace a medical check-up.

The beta-sitosterol is derived from soy, and the Graminex® pollen extract is made from rye flower pollen.

Is it vegan and gluten-free?

Yes: vegan, gluten-free, no added sugar, in a plant cellulose capsule. Contains soy (beta-sitosterol).

Are Hammer Nutrition supplements tested by an independent laboratory?

Yes. Our supplements are made in accordance with US dietary supplement manufacturing regulations (21 CFR 111): every raw material used is tested for purity, potency, identity and integrity, and checked at every stage of production – blending, encapsulation, packaging materials and finished product – before it is released for sale.

What does MFG on the packaging mean?

MFG is the date of manufacture. The product keeps its quality for 4 years from the date of manufacture if you store it in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight and excessive heat. After opening, always close the cap tightly and use within 6 months.

Saw palmetto berry extract, 40–45% (Serenoa repens) – Made from the berries of a low-growing palm species native to the southeastern United States; the 40–45% refers to the fatty acid content of the extract.

Beta-sitosterol – A plant sterol (phytosterol), from soybeans.

Stinging nettle extract 4:1 (Urtica dioica) – A concentrated extract of the perennial stinging nettle.

Graminex® G63® flower pollen extract (Secale cereale L.) – A rye flower pollen extract that contains both the water-soluble and the fat-soluble fractions of the pollen.

Indole-3-carbinol (I3C) – A naturally occurring compound, also found in cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, etc.).

Lycopene – A compound from the carotenoid family; it gives tomatoes, watermelon, pink grapefruit, guava and papaya their red colour.

Plant cellulose capsule, rice bran concentrate – The capsule shell and filler.
